Watertown Daily Times
The Watertown Daily Times is a daily newspaper published in Watertown, New York. It provides coverage of Jefferson County, Lewis County, and St. Lawrence County. It was founded in 1861. The Times is the smallest newspaper in the country to have its own Washington, D.C. , bureau. It publishes two daily editions, one for St. Lawrence County, a second for Jefferson and Lewis counties. The Times covers its geographically expansive coverage area through a network of bureaus and shared resources with its sister newspapers. In addition to Watertown and Washington, the newspaper has news-gathering operations in Lowville, Carthage, Canton, Ogdensburg, Potsdam, Massena and Malone. The Times produces a number of publications, including NNY Business, a monthly magazine, and Carthage-Lowville Times, a zoned weekly news section. The Times is the flagship of the Johnson Newspaper Corporation, which owns daily newspapers across upstate New York: the Watertown Daily Times, The Journal of Ogdensburg, Daily Courier-Observer of Massena/Potsdam, The Telegram of Malone, The Daily News of Batavia, The Register-Star of Hudson, and The Daily Mail of Catskill. It owns multiple weeklies, as well, including the St. Lawrence Plaindealer of Canton, Carthage Republican-Tribune, and The Journal and Republican of Lowville.
